I am a 58 year-old follower of Jesus. He is my Savior and I am striving to make Him fully my Lord. I love God. I love my wife and family. I love to catalyze transformation in myself, in others, and in organizations. I am richly blessed. I also love peanut butter and jelly on warm flour tortillas.
What a joy to receive the postcard from you and Kathi. Dean fetched it from the mail box, looked at it, then handed it to me. I held it several times and reminisced about the times on Pioneer Road. I don’t know if you remember this?……you were heading home on your tractor, stopped and after a short conversation, you were handed a chicken to cook in your crock pot. What I recall is that the bird cooked for a LONG time and remained as tough as he was in our pasture! We had such a good laugh! Dean talked about Amy trying to drive our stick-shift pick-up truck around the driveway and in the pasture area. She was mortified to say the least, but hung in there while Cole and Dean supported her. And how bout the field that caught on fire…..was that Grant or Ross? Several of us TP’d your trees and you and Kathi caught us! These things I remembered even if the memory of them is inaccurate! Did I mention these in the last correspondence? My memories are new every day! Scary. Kathi finally purchases the big machine! She waited a long time for that………every quilter’s dream! She hasnt changed a bit! Amazing! Amy looks the way she did fifteen years ago too! Runs in the genes of the women in Kathi’s family? Dean finally had a knee replacement and is healing well. He is involved in an internet panel of “smart people” around the globe bringing their expertise together for analysis and discussion concerning Japans reactors that were severly damaged a while back. Most of the public has long forgotten the ordeal but there are still work men and families that are getting dangerous exposure to radiation that will threaten their lives. A real mess for sure. His knowledge of reactors is AMAZING. He is SO gifted as a scientist! Please share this letter with Kathi. Does she have a blog or Facebook page? Email? Dean and I have fond memories of all of you. Thanks for staying in touch. In His service, Jan W.
Jan thanks for touching base! Great to hear from you and I remember all the memories you were sharing. As to the fire situation we had three–one started by Ross (fireworks) and one started by Grant (campfire) and one started by John Walker when he was burning our field to keep his horses at our place. It is very disconcerting to come home to the fire trucks at your place!
I am glad that Dean is mending.
I could not find you guys on Facebook. I am on but Kathi is not. She uses mine to keep up with the lives of our kids and grandkids.
Blessings and hello to your whole family for me.
